The Current Reality of Rural India
Almost 65% of India's population lives in rural areas, with nearly 50% under the age of 25. This means almost 70 crore young minds are in some phase of their education. The progress of our entire nation is deeply rooted in the quality of this education.
Most of the education in rural India is entirely dependent on government institutions. Sadly, many of these institutions lack basic facilities like modern infrastructure, internet connectivity, and stable electricity. As a result, the children studying here do not develop a liking towards their schools from the very beginning. Because a majority belong to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, there is often very little encouragement from home.
The Eprashala Turnaround
Eprashala has successfully addressed this precise issue for the past 16 years. By deploying our technology, we have been highly successful in reducing the school dropout ratio; in fact, our partner schools have recorded a massive multiplication in student strength.
As education experts, we realized a fundamental truth: If a child develops a liking towards education at an early age (4-7 years), they will definitely complete their primary and secondary education. Small children from rural areas began attending schools simply because they wanted to watch educational content on the big screen of the Eprashala projector.
